15 Funk Grooves

Learn 15 Funk grooves that you can apply in many situations. I’ll teach you the grooves step-by-step, note-by-note. The “virtual keyboard” makes it easy to see exactly which notes I am playing. I’m going to show you:

  • My 16th-note grooves that sound like Herbie or Stevie
  • How to add “double-stops” to the 16th-note principle
  • How to apply 4ths to the 16th-note groove with a hemiola pattern
  • 16th-note triplet grooves
  • Adding thirds to the groove to make it “beefier”
  • Adding chord structures to the groove
  • Couplings - an innovative way to create literally thousands of grooves
  • Tri-tone resolution grooves in Major and minor
  • How to combine two or more grooves to make longer phrases

Running time: 1 hour 35 minutes

Hi,

I don’t understand why the download dvd and the ship dvd are the same price?
I you make the download dvd at least 5 or 10 dollars cheaper it will be more attractive to buy.

I think it’s too expensive yet!

I hope you can consider this.

Thanx,

Naomi

@tannguyencung: This is only a sample of what you’ll find on the DVD. I go VERY slow on the DVD and break everything down.

@Naomi: I understand your point. However, you’re not paying for the production, but rather the experience. If you studied with a private teacher, you’d be paying a lot more than $39.95 -and- you would have to schedule a lesson, travel, not be able to watch it over and over, etc.. You will be very happy with the quality of the lessons and what you’ll learn.

Hello,
My husband has expressed a high interest in your funk DVD and I wanted to get it for him for Christmas….well is is easy to follow and for beginners? My husband plays a lot but has never taken a lesson he plays by ear and I dont think he knows that actual notes? He LOVES funk music. What DVD would you reccommend for him starting out but really wanting to jam?
Thanks for your help Tiffany a loving wife!

Hi Tiffany.

Thanks for your comment. I would suggest the DVD on this page, 15-Funk Grooves as a great place to start. Your husband will learn 15 grooves that he can start playing quickly using my system of breaking down the patterns.
